Rigour
We value careful methods, transparent reasoning and the willingness to be wrong.
About APSID
APSID connects researchers, practitioners and students around a common purpose: to make rigorous knowledge useful and to keep the conversation open.
Who we are
APSID is a professional association that brings together people who care about evidence, practice and the space between them. Our members work across research, education, public services and independent practice.
We founded APSID on a simple conviction: the most interesting questions rarely belong to a single discipline. Good work happens when different perspectives are given the time and respect to meet.
The association is volunteer-led and deliberately collegial. We favour generous conversation over performative certainty, and we try to make room for voices at every career stage.
What guides us
We value careful methods, transparent reasoning and the willingness to be wrong.
We make space for different disciplines, perspectives and career stages.
We build relationships that outlast individual projects and publications.
We ask how knowledge can be useful beyond the contexts in which it was produced.
What we do
Seminars, workshops and an annual gathering that bring members together across institutions and specialties.
A growing collection of articles, briefings and member reflections, written to be useful to a broad audience.
Mentoring, peer review and early-career opportunities designed to make the next step more navigable.
Partnerships with organisations that share our interest in connecting research, policy and practice.
APSID is still growing. We welcome members, collaborators and ideas that can widen the conversation.
