In over 20 years of clinical experience with patients, and as a clinical psychologist and an analytic psychotherapist using Jungian therapy, I’ve often asked myself why does psychology, psychological studies and theories and most types of psychotherapies avoid talking about God, why don’t they clearly state the existence of God and why don’t they really help people gain access to the true center of their being.

I’ve also asked myself why do people continue to suffer, why don’t they completely heal through psychologic and psychotherapy interventions and why don’t they find the true purpose of their life. It’s certain that if you do not find out who you really are, who you are in your essence as a human being, your life continues to be a dizzy carousel which never stops until the end of your life in this world.

From the perspective of spiritual traditions, we can say that for each being the beginning was, is and will always be God the Father. Spirituality expresses the bond between the human being as a spirit and God the Father. When the human being looses this bond with God, they will also loose the capacity to feel the presence of God both inside and outside of their own being.

This is how the human being grows apart from their own godly essence and this is how the separation from anything spiritual happens. The Godly consciousness from within the human being is thus reduced to a limited consciousness, a consciousness of the body and of the mind, of an Ego, which does not recognize its true center, its true source, the Self, a godly spark which is always united with God.

Just as a side-note, in this series of articles, when we say Self, we refer to the center, the essence of the human being, which in the ancient Hindu tradition is called Atman.

The history of humanity is filled with life situations of people growing apart from God and leading to a start of a crisis of spirituality. Psychology appeared on this background and it was declared science. Let us remember that the etymology of the word psychology, or psyche and logos can be interpreted as the knowledge of the soul. The true objective of the Psychology is the bond between the soul and God. The psychological theories for over 200 years, starting from the rise of Psychology as a science, do not make any reference to the soul or to the bond between the soul and God. Currently, the psychology is not a path leading to the knowledge of the soul, to the recognition of the soul as being of a godly nature, but is actually the opposite, it keeps the human being centered in the ego, the limited self, disconnected from their true, godly nature.

We have been focusing for over seven years of clinical studies of the Godly Spiritual Psychology, trying to find and offer ways through which the human being can find the path towards the real healing and towards the one and only healer who is God. The path to healing is first a re-connection to one’s own soul. That is because only with God’s help, the human being can completely heal from all suffering.

Spiritual traditions show us that God is the one who supports everything and heals everything in a godly order and according to godly principles. That is why we are saying that God is present in psychology and we called this the Godly Spiritual Psychology.

Some patients confess that most of the time they’ve tried several different types of therapies and did not really heal specific illnesses or that they still could not get rid of specific dependencies or disorders or psychological difficulties. They are unhappy and do not believe that psychology can help them get rid of their suffering for good. At most, from a functional point of view, psychology teaches them how to activate specific inner resources, how to develop new attitudes, positive or even optimistic ones which help them overcome their difficulties. And that is why eventually they fall back to their old habits and then come back to their psychological treatment and so on.

What is really concerning is that the psychological schools are far from agreeing on the existence of the soul. Some psychologists and even founders of psychological schools and psychological theories negate the existence of the soul and do not even discuss or accept the existence of God. The materialism which was declared science is the perspective which is the basis of concepts and techniques and methods in the current psychotherapy.

Even more, some psychotherapists and psychoanalysts, even the faithful ones, consider that any manifested interest for spirituality, for the knowledge of the soul or even the knowledge of God is a pathology which needs to be cured. The spirituality is looked at only as a dimension of life, which is linked to the trans-personal aspect and with religion.

The Godly Spiritual Psychology shows that the human being will not perceive their own life as a long stream of events which are hurting them and knocking them down but that life has a godly purpose and needs to be lived with purpose. Life experiences come from God and have the purpose of helping us grow and evolve and become truly happy and truly free.

About the soul and methods through which the Godly Spiritual Psychology helps us reach our soul we will write in this series of articles.

May God bless us all!
