Long ago Rumi has said: “To love means to reach God”. Nowadays this remains a psychological reality. We truly live when we feel love and when we act with love in our daily life. Most often we are not aware of our feelings, we act as human beings who are asleep and many times we act out of fear. But that is not the only strategy that our mind can choose. The Godly spiritual psychology explains the necessity to learn to always think beneficial, positive and to behave with love and to always act with love in our relationships with others and with ourselves.

One of my patients has told me that she was asked by a colleague at work how did psychotherapy help her. She spontaneously responded: “I’ve learned three important things: acceptance, forgiveness and love. And these have transformed my entire life”. Every day we have the chance to choose to transform our life and to become aware that our negative habits are the results of our wrong decisions. We have the possibility to change our life just by letting go off our negative, destructive and wrong choices. How? We start making beneficial choices. For example: we choose to love or to be more understanding with the others. Or we choose to be sincere with ourselves or we simply choose to be happy and enjoy our life. Any beneficial choice restructures our thinking and transforms our inner world step by step.

A question that I hear very often during the psychotherapy sessions is: “What should I do?” Sometimes patients seek for solutions or they feel powerless or they give up and then ask for help.

From the perspective of Godly spiritual psychology, any psychological problem has a spiritual cause. Resolving a psychological problem is both a phase in the healing process and a learning process of a better and healthier way to live. Positive and uplifting emotions or Godly virtues as they are called in spiritual traditions, when we experience them they are nurturing our soul and they are nurturing the Godly presence in us. These uplifting emotions will always help us find the right answer to our sufferings and to the hardships in our life. True evolution of a human being is the communion with God through experiencing His godly attributes which can also become our unending resources.
